Things To Do in Normal Heights 92116

A fantastic community nestled between two equally fantastic neighborhoods in San Diego. That's what it's like to live in Normal Heights.

Normal Heights is a lively, urban area with many places to live. Night life is very popular in Normal Heights, with hip cafes, gastropubs with delicious food & craft beer, and diverse restaurants - especially along Adams Avenue. The Normal Heights neighborhood is also known for concerts in grassy Trolley Barn Park as well as outdoor movie screenings at Ward Canyon Park which also has a playground and paths for walking, running, or walking your dogs. University Heights is west of Normal Heights and offers some of the best eateries including Asian, Mexican and Ethiopian food.

If you're looking for a San Diego Barber Shop, visit Dino's Barbershop for the perfect haircut at the perfect price.

1. Sample some of Normal Heights - and San Diego's - most delectable cuisines.

To get us started on a night out, most of us turn to healthy food. The film Normal Heights is awesome. Because of its ethnic diversity, the city's rich culture shines through in its dining experiences. Dao Fu serves Vietnamese cuisine, The Rabbit Hole serves pub grub, Nozaru Ramen Bar serves trendy vibes, and Di Mille's, a Normal Heights institution, serves pizza. There is Thai cuisine available. There are Thai, Mexican, vegetarian, and even poke options. So, if you have a picky eater in your household, there's no way they'll arrive home hungry.

2. Coffee, coffee, coffee

If you're anything like us, you've had those days when you have to be at the airport by 3 a.m. or when you get home late and all you want is coffee. Given that most people drink coffee during the day, this can be difficult to come by, but Lestat's solves the issue by being open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Their baristas are friendly, the coffee is delicious, and their shop is connected to a room where comedic performances are frequently held.

Their baristas are friendly, their coffee is delicious, and their shop is connected to a room where they host hilarious comedy nights. You can also get a delicious cup of coffee at Dark Horse Coffee Roasters or Dos Palmas Cafe. Stop by Adams Avenue Tea House for some delectable boba and loosie if coffee isn't your thing.

3. Take advantage of Adams Avenue's nightlife and breweries.

San Diego is renowned for its nightlife and brewery scene. Normal Heights provides all of the benefits of a night out on the town without the throngs. Blind Lady Ale House, where you can enjoy beers and fresh-from-the-oven pizzas, is one of our favorites. Rosie O'Grady's has been a Normal Heights institution since the 1980s and features live music. At Triple Crown Bar, you can play ping pong, shuffleboard, pool, and other games with your mates. Finally, Soda Bar offers an unpretentious atmosphere in which to enjoy a few drinks. What are your thoughts? We are confident that you will find a home that fits your requirements here.

4. Visit a Few Stores

Is it accurate to say that we're gushing? We'll confess it: we're a little gushy. These Normal Heights shops are the best of the best. You'll find some awesome shops along Adams Ave, like Rove, a boutique outdoor store in Normal Heights that sells gear and gifts for your most adventurous friend. (Or you, for that matter.) Kiko and Sven, Uptown Bicycles, and La Loupe Vintage are all excellent options.

5. Take advantage of the pleasant weather.

Every week, you'll see Vavi leagues playing kickball and softball leagues on the baseball field. You can enter and meet new people in your area. Pro tip: social leagues are just that: social, and they even have a free brew every week. You may also simply take long walks. The canyon views are stunning north of Adams, and the communities south, west, and east of Adams are some of San Diego's most colorful. There's so much to do in the downtown area that you may never want to leave!

6. Adams Avenue Street Fair

Even though this occurrence occurs only once a year, it deserves to be mentioned. If you're thinking about going to Normal Heights, the street fair may be a good time to go. The Adams Avenue Street Fair is the biggest free two-day music festival in Southern California. Over those days, you can take in the sights, smells, vibe, and tastes of the area and really get a feel for this great neighborhood. Take a look at the schedule and make a visit!

Thanks to the canyons that line the sides, you can get away from the noise without being more than a stone's throw away from the action. We chose this location because of this, as well as the fact that the North Park, University Heights, and Kensington neighborhoods are all within walking distance. This, coupled with the fact that the neighborhoods of North Park, University Heights, and Kensington are all within walking distance, is why we, and so many others, love this community. Keep reading if you're curious about "the action," because we're about to dive into what's going on in Normal Heights right now.

  • I brought my son to Dino for a fresh cut for an upcoming wedding. This was our first time visiting him so I was a bit nervous but he did not disappoint! Dino made sure my son was comfortable and that he was going to look great. Dino is very talented and knows what he’s doing. I’m very happy and we will definitely be back for spring school pictures.
    Thanks again!"
